Aircraft and System Modification

Aircraft modifications include structural enhancements, retrofitting airplanes with new engines, integrating new avionics systems, cockpit upgrades for night vision goggles compliance, and airplane restoration. Our engineering design and analysis include structural stress of internal and external loads, electrical loads, and fatigue/damage analyses, in addition to functional hazard assessments, and flutter analysis including ground vibration testing. Aerovation's analytical methods include aircraft performance, stability, and control predictions. Once the design is complete, technicians then fabricate and install the new components.


Systems Development and Integration

Aerovation technical depth allows for expeditious and cost effective development and integration of new systems. These services include software, hardware and prototype system development. Design, fabrication, and installation of flight-test instrumentation systems. To name a few examples; control system on unmanned aircraft; tactical situation display; flight deck modernization and refurbishment; and mobile engine test facilities.


One of Aerovation’s specialties is the implementation of unique processes and procedures for the testing of new powerplants, both geared to satisfy FAA and internal requirements in order to ultimately receive certification. For many years, Aerovation has generated turbofan test plans, site safety plans, operator training courseware, operator training programs, extensive checklists and procedures, and developed automated systems for enhanced safety and reliability.


Ground and Flight Test and Associated Certification

Government and FAA (FAR parts 23, 25, and 36) certification is achieved by conducting turnkey flight test programs following the aircraft modification phase. This testing supports the award of supplemental type certificates from the FAA and U.S. Government Public Use certification. Services include flight test planning, safety planning, risk assessment, airborne data  collection, data reduction and analysis, and reporting. Aerovation provides and installs data acquisitions systems for ground and flight testing.

Aerospace Propulsion System Services

  • Aerovation developed and currently operates two fully instrumented portable engine test stands.
  • The engine test stands accommodate engines with thrust up to 16,000 pounds.
  • Test area is a dedicated 100,000 square foot concrete facility approved for around the clock operations.
  •  Aerovation designed, fabricated, installed, and operates the data acquisition system (DAS) to provide engineering data for developmental engines and thrust reversers, airplane systems, and airplane/inlet compatibility.
